Maihaugen is a large open air museum comprised of a number of old buildings which have been relocated to the museum grounds in Lillehammer. It Certainly offers much more than meets the eye.
Whole communities have been relocated and painstakingly restored. Amongst the numerous buildings on display, you will find fully decorated homes from the 1900’s, not to mention Queen Sonja’s Childhood home which is definitely worth a visit.
During the holidays Maihaugen has a number of activities for children . The traveling theatre is a fun activity where children are encouraged to take part to help solve the mystery at the heart of the production. A fun experience for children and adults alike.
