Perched 980 metres above sea level in the heart of the Hafjell mountains, Pellestova is surrounded by open landscapes, forests and an extensive network of trails. Today, Pellestova is a modern mountain hotel with deep roots in local history. Owned and carefully developed by Bjørn Rune Gjelsten and Solveig Gjelsten, the hotel continues a proud tradition where quality, craftsmanship and memorable experiences are at the heart of everything we do.
Right outside the door, you’ll find some of Eastern Norway’s finest cross-country ski trails, stretching across snow-covered plateaus in winter and beautiful mountain landscapes throughout the rest of the year. Whether you’re here for skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting or simply the tranquillity of the mountains, Pellestova offers the perfect base for your stay.

In 2023, the hotel underwent a complete renovation, and today the rooms offer a warm, contemporary and comfortable retreat inspired by the surrounding landscape. From Oslo
Follow the E6 north past Lillehammer and take the exit towards Hafjelltoppen.
Continue following the signs for Hafjelltoppen. At the first junction with a yield sign, turn right. Follow this road through the toll station and continue all the way up the mountain. Pellestova Hotel is located at the end of the road.
The toll fee is NOK 30. Shortly after passing the toll station, you’ll find a payment terminal where you can pay the fee.
Please note that the toll fee only applies on the way up to Pellestova.
From Trondheim
Take the E6 south and follow the signs towards Hafjelltoppen.

By Taxi
If you arrive by train at Lillehammer Station, taxis are usually available outside the station.
The journey from Lillehammer to Pellestova Hotel takes approximately 30 minutes by taxi.

Public Transport
Train & Bus to Hafjell
To Lillehammer
Trains run almost every hour from Oslo and Oslo Airport to Lillehammer Station, located approximately 20 minutes from Hafjell. From Lillehammer, local buses operate regularly during the day to Hafjell Ski Resort.
To Hunderfossen
Direct trains from both Oslo and Trondheim serve Hunderfossen Station several times daily. From Hunderfossen and Hafjell Ski Resort, you can use the Hafjell Shuttle Bus to selected accommodation providers during the winter season.

Summer Bus to Pellestova
During the summer season, bus route 502 operates directly to Pellestova, making it easy to reach the mountains without a car.

The bus also stops in Øyer town centre and at Hafjell Ski Resort.
