Pelle, together with his wife Embjørg, toiled day and night to keep the place running smoothly.
Pelle’s work ethic and drive allowed him to transform Hundersætra and Pellestova into something completely unique. Amongst his many other achievements Pelle built a mountain road to Lillehammer, connected power to the various buildings on site and dammed a small tributary, which, over time, became the small lake now known as Malmtjønn. Although he didn’t always do things by the book Pelle got the job done. One example of this: he added onto the existing buildings only applying for permission once the work was completed.
Today we may do things differently, but the sense of freedom Pelle created here endures. It is this sense of freedom that keeps guest coming back year after year.
We keep Pelle’s spirit alive in the way we treat our guest and the way we do what we can to make them feel at home, just as Pelle himself once did.
Today we are a diverse group who work to achieve a common goal: that all our guests should enjoy their stay from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave the hotel.
