The Seven Peaks Trail
Hiking
Hike Details
Season: June – October (weather and snow conditions permitting)
Distance: Approximately 27 km
Every summer, DNT Lillehammer organises the popular Seven Peaks Hike starting from Pellestova, but the route can just as easily be explored on your own. Covering approximately 27 km, the trail takes you across several of the peaks and mountain landscapes surrounding Pellestova, offering spectacular views throughout much of Øyerfjellet.
The hike typically takes between 7 and 8 hours to complete and features varied terrain, scenic trails and rewarding mountain panoramas. The first summit on the route is Hafjelltoppen, with the trail beginning just outside the doors of Pellestova.
If you prefer a shorter adventure, the route can easily be adapted to include three or five summits instead.
Seven peaks, endless views and a full day in the heart of the mountains.

Recommended Clothing & Equipment
Mountain weather can change quickly, so it is important to be prepared for conditions that may differ from those at the start of your hike.
We recommend dressing according to the three-layer principle, or at the very least carrying extra layers in your backpack. This approach helps you stay warm and comfortable while allowing you to adjust your clothing as temperatures and weather conditions change throughout the day.
The base layer should consist of wool or technical thermal underwear. The middle layer can be a fleece or down jacket for insulation, while the outer layer should be windproof and water-resistant to protect you from the elements.
If you are planning to stop for a break or enjoy a picnic outdoors, we also recommend bringing an insulated seat pad for extra comfort.
